

From September 20 to 21, the 2025 China Coal Society Academic Annual Meeting on Mine Construction and Geotechnical Engineering, hosted by middling coal Mining Engineering Co., Ltd. and undertaken by Railway Construction Heavy Industry, was held in Changsha, Hunan Province.
Coinciding with the important historical nodes of the completion of the goals and tasks of the 14th Five Year Plan and the planning and layout of the 15th Five Year Plan, the annual meeting, with the theme of "Focusing on the forefront of engineering science, jointly exploring the intelligent development of mining and construction", gathered nearly 300 experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives from the mining construction field across the country. The attending experts conducted in-depth discussions on ten major topics including rapid well construction technology, intelligent construction, and green construction in deep and complex strata in western mining areas, presenting 34 wonderful reports and jointly exploring the path of industry innovation and development.
At the opening ceremony, He Yongjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of CRCC Heavy Industry, Fuqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of middling coal Mining Engineering Co., Ltd., Wang Lei, Secretary General of the China Coal Association, and Sun Shouren, Vice President of the China Coal Industry Association delivered speeches respectively. Cheng Shouye, Deputy General Manager of middling coal, presided over the opening ceremony.
At the meeting, Professor Jin Zhixin from Taiyuan University of Technology proposed to focus on intelligent mining technology and green mining construction, with the theme of "Technology drives social development, engineering leads a happy life", and to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of mining systems through big data, the Internet of Things, and digital twin technology. Professor Chen Xiangsheng from Shenzhen University gave a special speech on "Current Status and Reflections on the Development of Underground Engineering", pointing out that the current focus should be on the new trend of deep resource development and coordinated development of major underground infrastructure.
